Everyone says you get what you pay for. Well, the opposite can be true too. If it seems too easy to get paid for a job, it probably isn't the best option. What am I talking about? Content mills. They are great for a quick buck, but I'm becoming increasingly frustrated working for them. There are too many wide inconsistencies in editing, standards, and people's knowledge of writing. I know it may seem easy enough to lie on your resume about your editing experience, but it does not help writers in the end. I can't get an editing job to save my life because I'm honest about having little experience.
Do us a favor and either learn your craft or get out of the kitchen.
