Dear
Readers,
Greetings
from Camp NaNoWriMo! It's already been fifteen days filled with fun
and adventure. And heartache. And plot twists beyond recognition. I
cannot believe we are already past halfway point out here. Right
now, most of the campers are scrambling to get their goals met before
it's time for the big novel reveal (whenever THAT happens to be).
While we all get homesick sometimes for revisions, editing and the
occasional beta reader, we know that all of these things will be
waiting for us when we get back home in August.
Although
I have some catching up to do myself on the whole novel project, I
have been taking some time to get to know my fellow campers and cabin
mates. I have also been exploring all of the literary wilderness that
surrounds us—the forests of metaphors, the meadows filled with
character traits and Plot Lake, where the most unexpected and devious
plots twists can be found at the murky bottom. Of course, it wouldn't
be summer if I didn't also kick back and relax for a little while in
the sun, with a cool drink in my hand. And maybe there's the
occasional scary story around the campfire about misplaced commas.
After all, camp IS supposed to be fun.
Less
than fifteen days to go and we all still have some work to do, but
it's all going to be worth it. These are virtual memories that we
will never forget—especially since nothing ever disappears on the
Internet.
See
you in August!
Sincerely,
Terri (beatle_babe84)
P.S.
- A shoutout to all my camp cabin mates! Thanks to AppleJackal, I_am_a_Posh_Ninja, Summourn, Aimss5, Nutache and Saggiespeare for being so
supportive of each other!
