How I wish the mounting tension I'm talking about was contained in the plots of my stories. No, I'm feeling a lot more pressure these days to leave. Maybe I can't leave to where I want to go, but I need to go somewhere before everything explodes. Of course, I've been in this situation before: not ready to move, but I leave anyway just to appease myself or someone else. I don't want to make that mistake again, but there's really no other choice. I guess I better get my little notebook out and start making some to-do lists to get this ball rolling.
In terms of my fiction, though, tension is something I'm severely lacking. I'm working on three different stories, but two of them aren't going anywhere because I can't seem to find the spot where I can build the most tension. I need to grab my readers. With the stories currently as they are, it wouldn't reach the readers with more than a poke in the arm. Back to the writer's equivalent of the drawing board.

Sometimes, when I'm under stress, I become more creative. I was wondering if you ever noticed that sort of effect? If it does, maybe some of it could help build the tension you're looking for in your stories.
I certainly do notice that, though it seems the creativity usually takes on a life of its own. What I end up getting is a totally new story. Which is both a blessing and a curse!
I will bookmark your blog and have my kids check up here frequently. I'm very certain they will understand lots of new stuff here than anybody else.
