I Love TCM!!
I think I'm officially obsessed with this channel. I spent all day watching it yesterday, skipping my traditional 2 hours of I Love Lucy. Take that, TVLand. Anywhoo... yesterday it was a Katherine Hepburn marathon. And although I get really sick of her Shakespearean airs (even in the comedies!) I can tell you that I loved watching Stage Door, Bringing Up Baby, and The Philadelphia Story. And although Guess Who's Coming to Dinner? was not a movie played, that's another Hepburn classic I really like.
But through watching TCM a lot these last few weekends, I have discovered that I really like Ginger Rogers too... not for the dancing, but for the acting, which is something that does always bring her legend the praise that it deserves. I mean, she was great in Stage Door, but she danced less than a minute throughout the whole movie.
I don't know why I'm rambling on and on about classic movies when I have work to do... I guess it's dinner, Nightly News, then back to all those articles. Maybe I can get enough done tonight so that I can sleep in tomorrow.

News Overload
Not only have I been watching my regular news on television, but I have been overloading myself with my podcasts: Nightly News with Brian Williams, the Today Show, AC360, etc. And this is all because after almost two months of trying to get through podcasts still on my iPod, I finally finished. But of course I had to load another 2 months' worth of podcasts back on. It's a never-ending cycle, but I really do love it.
I babysat today. It was alright, but there are some potty training issues. They are the same ones that I had when I was my nephew's age, but there's really just no helping him, especially since this was the first time I babysat alone. And I still had to call in reinforcements for about half of the time. It was still fun hanging out with him for awhile though.
Work is really slow--I'm ahead of schedule for next week. I should be getting back on track soon though, then I'll be swimming in work again, just in enough time to pay all of my bills.
I can't wait for Swingtown to come on tonight. I love that show! I hope that there is a second season of it, because its really good television. Anyone else out there a fan?

I am really getting the hang of scheduling my time so that I don't feel bombarded by article work, yet I don't feel like I'm sitting around doing nothing. If I push out all of my articles before I watch As the World Turns at 2, I can usually feel al sense of accomplishment for the day. And of course since no new shows until April, I can still work on more articles after the Nightly News at 6:30. Usually I odn't make it past one or two articles at night, but it's still work, you know? I figure that, with the average pay I'm getting per article and how long it takes to write each one, I make about $5 and hour. Under minimum wage, I know, but at least I'm doing something I love, unlike working retail. Shoot me if I ever suggest doing that again! The only downside is that this will not get my the money that I need to move to Chicago. Average 1 bedroom where I want to live is twice the rent I'm paying now... rediculous! Looks like I will have to find some other form of income. Maybe I'll get back to selling crap on ebay... that seemed to work well before.

I finally have the answer!!
...sort of.
I watched Nightly News tonight, as is my usual evening routine, and they had David Gregory explain what exactly takes place in the caucuses. Now I have at least a brief understanding of the process. And it's so stupid!! I'm all for keeping with traditions, but this seems to be an antiquated system that's not really needed.
I'm sure having CNN would benefit my knowledge of the political process even more, since there is constant coverage on that channel I'm sure, but as you know my "cable" company pulled it. Along with Animal Planet, I just found out. My roommate will not be happy about that when she comes back. And there's dish network ads playing on two channels. Hmm... so that I quit complaining on my blog, I think the "cable" company is getting a phone call from me tomorrow. And I promise, unless something drastically horrible happens with that, I will not blog about my television stations anymore. Scouts honor.

I went with a friend to see Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story last night. Let me just say first that I haven't been to a movie theater in almost three years, so that automatically gives the experience much more to me than it does to everyone else... but, the movie was amazing! Funniest things I've seen all year (all year? ha ha). Though my friend wasn't ready for the breif male nudity we both had a great time. The Apatow Group, apparently as it's known now, turns out great movies. I'll admit I probably haven't seen more than two of them, but the ones I did see deserve praise.
I downloaded two new podcasts last night. I think that brings my total podcast count up to nine podecsts, with 169 episodes unseen, and about 61 new ones downloading. I think I've gone a little podcast crazy. BUT, as I said before my "cable" company screwed me out of CNN, so a podcast is the only way I can watch AC 360. I also like to sleep in now so it is vital that I get the Today Show podcast. The Nightly News podcast I could do without just because I catch it on TV most nights, but sometimes the "cable" searches for its satellite signal and I can't get the station it's on.
But the new ones: VintageToons and Scrubs. Now I'm a little upset: Scrubs isn't downloading. There's a problem. But once I get it, I'll be happy. And you know how much I love to rant and rave about old cartoons being morally high and mighty while still retaining racist and ethnic stereotypes. Ah, the good old days.
I promise my blogs won't always be this boring. I'm just getting a slow start on 2008 and haven't prepared myself enough to blog daily, like I'm trying. And no--it's not a resolution to blog daily. It's a goal. There's a difference.

I've had a couple of days off from work. I've been lost on what to do with my time (besides sleeping in) and finally today I've been productive. I've been revising stories (HARD!) and catching up on all of my podcasts... about a month's worth of Nightly News and AC 360. What I need to do is polish the old resume off and find a new job. Now that REALLY takes some motivation.
Hopefully, if I cannot find a job, I'll be able to sell off some of these stories... I don't think they are too bad, but a couple have been rejected so far. Not that I'm counting on selling them... hell, I probably can't give them away at this point. But I'll keep trying. It's about all I can do right now. That, and read this last pile of books sitting on the floor. Should be an interesting six months ahead. Should be.
